CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte 2020 Host Committee, CLT Host 2020, Inc. today announced its national finance chair, Louis DeJoy, who will help lead fundraising efforts for the 2020 Republican National Convention.
DeJoy, a successful North Carolina businessman, who is the president of LDJ Global Strategies, LLC, a real estate, private equity, consulting and project management company, will serve as national finance chairman and assemble a finance team on behalf of CLT Host 2020, Inc. He has a proven track record nationally, in both civic and political fundraising.
“It is an honor to be asked by the Charlotte Host Committee to lead the fundraising efforts for the 2020 Republican National Convention,” said DeJoy. The convention will elevate the reputation of the Charlotte region, while also helping to attract more major events, tourism, and new jobs. As a North Carolinian from Greensboro, I am proud for Charlotte to have the honor of hosting another party convention.”
CLT Host 2020 Inc., CEO John Lassiter said DeJoy brings invaluable experience to the host committee’s fundraising efforts. Lassiter also said the Republican National Committee’s selection of Charlotte to host the convention in July 2018 provided additional time for the host committee to prepare, organize, and raise the necessary funds.
“Historically, the national parties do not announce the host cities for their conventions until the early months of the year prior. By announcing Charlotte in 2018, we were positioned to aggressively pursue our fundraising goals,” said Lassiter. “We could not be more pleased with Louis and his team leading our efforts to fund a successful Republican National Convention in Charlotte in 2020.”
